Techfiesta 2020
ER&DCI Institute of Technology, the academic wing of C-DAC, Thiruvananthapuram conducted its flagship technical festival TECHFIESTA’20 on February 14th and 15th at C-DAC Campus Thiruvananthapuram. The event comprised of HAXXWORKS conducted by Department of Computer Science and TRIKA conducted by Department of Electronics and Communication. The event witnessed a multifarious group of attendees ranging from school students to working professionals.
Shri. Sasi P.M (CEO, Kerala IT Parks & Director ICFOSS), inaugurated the event. Smt.Sindhu R (Group Head Education & Training), Shri. V K Bhadran (Head Technology Kerala State IT Mission Thiruvananthapuram), Smt. Ananthalakshmi Ammal R(Group Head Cyber Security), Dr. Alexander G ( Director ER&DCI-IT ,Group Head Health Informatics & Software Technology) and Smt. Rajasree S (Principal ER&DCI-IT) were also present.
As part of HAXXWORKS a Cyber Security CTF and Conference-Sec'Con was conducted with four informative sessions and the sessions were handled by Senior IT professionals from Industry such as EY, UST Global, Amadeus India and H&R Block. In the second day two parallel events were conducted viz ‘Radianz’ - paper presentation competition and ‘Capture the Flag’ (Ethical Hacking) competition. Cyber Security awareness programs were also conducted in schools in Thiruvananthapuram in association with the TECHFEST.
As part of TRIKA 2K20, Department of ECE conducted Technical Conference on "Recent Trends in Electronics for Industrial Applications" and the sessions were handled by experts from Indian Navy, Alpha Ori Technologies, Silicon Valley USA and Curvelogics Technopark Trivandrum. In the second day a workshop on "Microprocessor Architecture and Implementations" was organized for which the resource person was from CDAC. Five Technical Competition events viz-Resist the Flow-the resistor making competition, Electricuit- The Circuit debugging competition, Pitch perfect- the idea pitching competition, Liner-the Line Follower Robotic competition and Be the Stark- the Best Engineer contest were organized. A Quiz competition, Online Photography contest and Selfie Point contest were also conducted as part of TRIKA 2K20
The closing ceremony was held on 15th February. The prizes worth 60K was distributed to the winners of TRIKA and HAXXWORKS. Active participation of about 300+ students and attendees from Industry ,Kerala Police Cyber Dome etc made this event a grand success.
